USEFUL INFORMATION
GETTING TO BURGAS AND THE VENUE
Most likely, you will fly to Burgas as the local airport offers connections to numerous destinations all over Europe.
The airport is well connected with the town. Bus No 15 departs every 20 minutes from near the airport (a 2 minutes
walking distance to the bus stop at the roundabout) to the South Bus Station in the centre of Burgas. The ticket
costs 1.50 BGN and can be purchased on the bus. Then you have less than 10 minutes walking from the bus
station to Bulgaria Hotel.
A 24-hour taxi service is available at Burgas Airport. You may find the yellow taxicabs of Eko Taxi in front of
Terminal 2.
If you travel overland, you can also easily get to Burgas by train or bus. There are a few daily trains connecting
Burgas with Sofia via Plovdiv, there are also bus connections on the same route.
You can also fly via Varna or Sofia and travel to Burgas by bus or organized transfer.
GETTING AROUND
Most likely, it is not necessary to use public transport when visiting Burgas since all the attractions are located in
the central part of the city and you can easily walk everywhere.
ORGANIZED TRANSFERS
Participants can order individual transfer(s) from Burgas Airport to the hotel or v.v. to CME Ltd. The price per
person for one direction is …………. Euro. Our representative with a sign with symposium name will pick you up
from Arrivals Hall and drop you off right in front of your hotel. We track your flight online and are always informed
about the real-time landing, with no additional charge for night transfers.
Transfers can be organized from/to Varna Airport upon requests.
PASSPORTS & VISAS
Bulgaria has the European Union's Common Visa Policy as a member country accepting European citizens freely.
All non-EU citizens are required to have a passport to enter the EU with the appropriate visas. You can find out

MONETARY SYSTEM
The national currency is the Bulgarian Lev. Bank notes of the following denominations are in circulation: 5, 10, 20,
50, 100 Levs. 1 Euro = 1.95583 BGN.
There are foreign exchange offices and ATMs around the resort. It is always prudent to carry a little cash, however,
in case you cannot find an ATM or bank office nearby. You can always change cash at the hotel, though the
commission will be higher.
Make sure you have enough of the national currency when you plan to visit local markets and shops.
TIPPING
When a gratuity is not included in your bill, which is usually the case, 10% is customary. If service is outstanding,
you could go as high as 15%. With taxi drivers, you usually just round up the sum if you have been happy with the
ride or for the sake of convenience.
CLIMATE
The climate in Bulgaria is moderate continental with beautiful blooming spring, dry and hot summer, long and
pleasant autumn, and mild winter with lots of opportunity for skiing.
The average temperature in the beginning of September in the region of Burgas is 25–30°C, which is very pleasant
both for work and leisure.
